First developed in 1993, WFTPD has become the easiest and most powerful FTP
server available for Windows. WFTPD is used by many Fortune 500 companies,
numerous ISPs, and countless small businesses. The author, Alun Jones, still
does all the technical support for this product! Try it and you will love it!
Support and upgrades are free.
In our support of WFTPD, it soon became clear that there were some demands that
it was not entirely suitable for - mainly that of the Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista-based Internet
Service Provider (ISP). WFTPD Pro is our response, running as a native Windows
2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista service, and providing the capability to administer multiple "virtual
hosts", to make one machine look like many.
Many of our customers have repeatedly asked for an FTP client program to pair
with WFTPD and WFTPD Pro. So, in answer to your repeated requests, we are
proud to announce WFTPD Explorer, our new FTP client software. The obvious next step was to provide an encryption-secured
version of the client to match WFTPD Pro's encryption (as well as
industry-standard encryption in other FTP servers). We therefore released
WFTPD Pro Explorer. In addition to WFTPD and WFTPD Pro, we also have Alun's
original shareware program, HP2PS.
WFTPD Explorer is the newest product in our stable. Written as a
companion to WFTPD and WFTPD Pro, it is also suitable for use with other
standards-compliant FTP servers. Its design, like that of our other
offerings, presents a simple yet functional interface to exchange files with
your FTP server. Please visit our WFTPD Explorer page and download the
preview.
WFTPD Pro Explorer adds to
the WFTPD Explorer the ability to connect and transfer data in a secured,
encrypted fashion. It's an ideal companion
to our WFTPD Pro Server, but since it is designed to be standards-compliant,
will also work with other standards-compliant FTP servers. Please visit our WFTPD Explorer page and download the
preview.
Developed in 1993, WFTPD was the first standalone FTP server for Windows, exploiting the
very new standard API known as Winsock for its access to TCP/IP internetworking. We
have built steadily and continually from that base to provide a program that serves many
thousands of Internet sites, and many more sites that are internal to specific companies.
In our support of WFTPD, it soon became clear that there were some demands
that it was not entirely suitable for - mainly that of the Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista-based Internet Service Provider
(ISP). WFTPD Pro is our response to this gap in the line, running as a native
Windows Vista / 2003 / XP / 2000 service, and providing the capability to host multiple "virtual
hosts", to make one machine look like many.
WFTPD Pro adds to WFTPD the
ability to
encrypt and authenticate using industry standard
protocols TLS and SSL; to use either an internal user database, or the Windows
user database (Active Directory integration); and to run and configure multiple virtual servers running on
one system.
HP2PS allows graphics files in the plotter language, HPGL (and HPGL/2) to be printed on
any Postscript printer or other output device. Based around an HPGL/2 interpreter
written entirely in Postscript, it provides maximum portability and compatibility.
